10/04/2007 Taffy Entertainment Secures Worldwide Rights to Bobby's World

Taffy Entertainment has secured the worldwide distribution rights to Howie Mandel's Emmy-nominated 81x23-minute series Bobby's World, which was relaunched in January on Kabillion's VOD and broadband platforms.

Bobby's World, which was originally broadcast on FOX from 1990-1998, was successfully relaunched in January on Kabillion, available as a free VOD channel on Comcast Cable and as a free online broadband site at www.Kabillion.com. Since the show debuted on the new service, it has been downloaded and viewed over 500,000 times and it has garnered an even higher number of views on the website. The animated Bobby character also made a guest appearance on NBC's hit prime-time series Deal or No Deal this past February Sweeps period, where he was seen by over 16 million viewers.

Originally produced by Film Roman Productions and 20th Century Fox Television, in association with Alevy Productions, the show takes a look inside the mind of 4-year-old Bobby Generic, who lives in a suburban neighborhood. Each episode is introduced by a live-action sequence featuring Howie Mandel, and draws from everyday family situations and growing up problems that are magnified by Bobby's active imagination.

Bill Schultz, the co-CEO of Taffy Entertainment, commented: "Bobby's World is one of those classic cartoons that is not only appealing to today's kids, but also has a huge teen/20-something appeal. Howie has also reinvigorated the brand with numerous appearances on daytime and late night talk shows. He has made it a priority. Online communities like Facebook, MySpace and YouTube are virally selling the show. This groundswell, combined with the fact that we are working with Howie to help introduce this much-beloved character to a whole new generation of kids worldwide, makes this a huge opportunity with many more chapters to be written."
